The 9th BRICS Academic Forum was held in the city of Fuzhou, China. In this of the Forum, the 6th meeting of the Think Tanks Council, the 3rd edition of the BRICS Civil Organizations Forum and the BRICS Political Parties Forum all happened simultaneously. In the occasion, FUNAG’s president gave an interview to China Radio International.
The President of the Alexandre de Gusmão Foundation signed a memorandum of understanding with the Brazilian Center for International Relations (CEBRI) on March 15 at the Itamaraty Palace. The cooperation agreement aims to promote studies and research in international relations and other areas of interest for Brazilian foreign policy and the diplomatic history of Brazil.
FUNAG and IPRI announce the new website of the Graduate Theses Database. As of July 2016, the database comprises a list of more than 3,000 Graduate theses in International Relations and related areas defended in Brazil. The database was elaborated in Portuguese and is available in this link.
The Brazilian Institute of King's College of the University of London adopted FUNAG's book "Brazilian Diplomatic Thought - Policymakers and Agents of Foreign Policy (1750-1964)" as a reference in its curriculum of international relations in undergraduate and graduate studies.
The book is a compilation of texts written by Oswaldo Aranha (1894-1960), the great statesman and diplomat responsible for Brazil’s participation, along with the Allies, in the World War II, and who guaranteed the Brazilian presence among the founding countries of the United Nations and of the Bretton Woods system.
